Get to know Julie
Julie is a New Zealand born Kiwi, a proud mother of four adult tamariki and five mokopuna, living in the Western Bay of Plenty.
She is passionate about providing affordable, accessible, culturally sensitive counselling services to people in need, who are seeking growth, fulfilment, and meaning in their lives.
Her work for the last 30 years has involved supporting people facing all manner of challenges in their lives and it has been through this work that Julie has discovered a passion for both supporting those impacted in some way by addiction, and reducing the stigma surrounding mental health and addiction in Aotearoa New Zealand.
She is a fully qualified counsellor having graduated from the Wellington Institute of Technology (WelTec) in 2020 with a Bachelor of Addiction Studies.
Her Drug and Alcohol Practitioners Association of Aotearoa New Zealand (DAPAANZ) registration allows her to provide specialist support to those wanting to address their addiction and mental health challenges and extends to those affected by someone else's substance abuse.
The wide range of experience Julie has enables her to include treatment for grief, historical trauma, relationship problems, workplace stress and a range of other mental health issues in her individually tailored treatment plans.
When not operating her private counselling practice you will find Julie facilitating Addiction 101 Workshops for Blueprint for Learning.
